CHAMAEROPS HUMILIS
Synonym: Palmetto.
A bushy palm with rigid fan-shaped leaves with long, thin petioles loaded with lateral spines and a blade divided into 16-20 pointed segments.
It is easy to grow and tolerant of a wide range of climates and conditions, easily resisting prolonged drought, as well as easily withstanding salinity and offshore winds. Given its hardness and rusticity, its growth is assumed to be slow.
They are perfect in parks, public walks and gardens. When it is young it can be placed in pots, being very attractive to decorate patios and terraces.
