CERATONIA SILIQUA
Synonym: Carob
Characteristic Mediterranean tree up to 10 m tall that lives at low altitudes. It withstands drought well, but not cold and adapts to all types of soils, although it prefers limestone and without much humidity.
Its fruit is used as livestock feed and for the manufacture of chocolate, coffee, liqueurs and thickeners.
