CITRUS SINENSIS

Synonym: sweet orange.

Originally from the East, it is an evergreen tree or small tree of the Rustaceae family. It has a compact crown and shiny green leaves. Its flower called orange blossom gives off a sweet perfume and its fruit, the orange, contains a multitude of nutritional and medicinal properties.

It needs rich soil and good drainage along with a mild climate because it cannot tolerate frost or sudden changes in temperature.

It is ideal for gardens as isolated specimens and also in pots for patios.
