PUNICA GRANATUM
Synonym: Pomegranate
Originally from Western Asia, it is cultivated throughout the Mediterranean basin. The most convenient climate to grow it is the subtropical, being very resistant to drought and not demanding on the soil.
It is a tree with a twisted trunk and hard wood with scaly grayish bark. Its fruit, the pomegranate, reaches its maximum in the hottest seasons.
